Cotton candy party

Ulla-Maj Saarinen ja Viljamin Puoti tekivät sen taas. Kangas jota oli aivan pakko saada ja kangas josta oli aivan pakko tehdä jälleen kerran juhlamekko.

Ulla-Maj Saarinen and Viljamin Puoti did it again. A print that I just had to have and a print that had to be made in to a party dress.

 

 

Hattarakekkerit on kuosin nimi. Ihanan elävää jälkeä ja ihanilla väreillä. Meillä tässä pinkki, mutta tätä saa myös minttuna (josta tulevaisuudessa lisää).

The print is named Hattarakekkerit which translates to Cotton Candy Party. Love the vividness of the lines and the colours. This dress is made of pink colour way, but it also can be found in mint (which you'll be seeing in the near future).

 

 

Meille ei tosiaankaan olisi tarvittu uutta juhlamekkoa, vanhojakin kun on kaapissa ihan riittävästi. Eikä meillä kyllä ole juhliakaan tulossa lähiaikoina. Mutta kuitenkin...

We really didn't have any need for a new party dress, as we have quite a few hanging in the closet and there's no partys in the near future. But then again...

 

 

Voihan sitä vaikka käyttää puuhun kiivetessä.

Tälläkin kertaa käytin sitä ihanaa vintage-kaavaa, jolla on tullut tehtyä lähes kaikki juhlamekot. Tällä kertaa helmaa ei ole vuoritettu muulla kuin tyllillä ja lisäsin sivustalle rypytyskujan. Tässäkin kiinnitys takaa napeilla - ja tulipa myös ommeltua elämäni rumimmat napinlävet. Sen siitä saa, kun pitää liian pitkään taukoa ja onnistuu unohtamaan ompelukoneensa toiminnot.

I yet again used the same vintage pattern that I've used in almost all of the party dresses I've made. This time I didn't line the skirt with anything else besides tulle and ruched it on the side with ribbon. Once again it closes from the back with buttons - which are the the worst buttonholes I've ever made. That's what you get for not sewing enough and you forget how your machine works.
